Visit of Moment Factory head office in Montreal, QC

I recently got the chance to visit the Moment Factory office here in Montreal. Their slogan being "We do it on the street", I must say I was a bit intrigued to say the least. Anyhow, thanks to a great student service counsellor from the CentreNAD (Thanks!), I got a chance to visit this awesome company that work in so many event and special occasions around the world.

In their Portfolio, you can find some of the most breathtaking special effects, lighting effects and all-round multimedia effects I've ever seen. They actually did the light show in Ottawa (the Parliament of Canada show named Mosaika which was a HUGE success. They also showed us some special lighting and processing they used in a Nine Inch Nails show in North and South America. This thing was incredible, they actually had a programs analyzing the movement of the musician on the stage and following them with the effects. The group was actually able to interact with the preset effects in real time just by standing there or moving to the side. They also played a lot with depth of field and perception tricks to do this thing.

On a more casual note, their offices were grandiose. Open space ? Check. Wide rooms with a lot of team work ? Check. Flexible assignment ? Check. Great general atmosphere ? Check. Stylish and current workspace ? Check. I am telling you, they had it all.

I am really looking forward to studying in the special effects field and doing stuff like this in the years to come.

Thanks again to the CentreNAD that enabled me this great visit of a company like no other.
